Follow-through: Beyond Life-Planning, Conclusion, Course Evaluation

Throughout this course I have introduced elements that in combination with imagination practice, will assist you in your life planning process. As you have engaged in these activities, you have expanded your creative abilities and increased your confidence in planning your future. The life of imagination sees creative possibilities. It nudges you to seek clarity about your life and deepest yearnings.

As you continue to identify, articulate, and act upon the messages you care about—your highest aspirations and dreams for your life—“invisible fields develop and with them, their wondrous capacity to bring energy to form” (Meg Wheatley, Leadership and the New Science). Remember that this Life Planning Process is a cycle of—

  • Self-awareness—gathering information about self, what has meaning, and your deepest desires; overcoming roadblocks
  • Creating with imagination—brainstorming and writing to discover possibilities
  • Going for detail—generating sub-goals, details, and priorities
  • Follow through—assessment and creating timelines and action plans to ensure progress.

Remember that when you’re clear about what you want to have happen, the universe moves in your direction. Explorer W. H. Murray states, “The moment one definitely commits oneself then Providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise occurred. I wish you much success as you access your imagination and create a blueprint of your life that includes dreams and the details you’ve seen in your future.
